Designing and managing work-flows for feature films. Providing fast software and hardware solutions to meet the most demanding requirements.
Designing custom solutions for clients; from requirement gathering, to deploying a complete solution. Working with the client to identify their specific needs and optimise their work-flow. Then design, build, test, and maintain their system.
Working on a range of high profile projects ranging from Coral betting to deploying a new national lottery platform - the Health Lottery. I worked on everything from the python and oracle back end, to the Javascript and HTML frontend.
Worked on a custom social media platform to support various government community projects. Installed and maintained server installations in various data centers around the country.
My interests are always piqued by new exciting technology - toys ranging from tiny arduino boards all the way up to the latest electric passenger planes. I like to tinker with lots of home automation projects, like the Star Trek inspired control panel by my front door.
I enjoy the outdoors, hiking and the occasional camping adventure. I've been doing a fair amount of indoor ice climbing, and hoping to try this in the winter outdoors sometime. Mountain biking has been a passion of mine, but as of late I haven't had much of an opportunity to indulge.
Over the years I have devoted a fair amount of time to photography. The ability to freeze a moment in time or capture an emotion in a single photo is very alluring. It's always lovely to get away from everything else with a camera and a bag of lenses.
I've always been a fan of great science fiction. I enjoy sitting down to watch a good film from time to time, reading a good book or even play a video game.
I'm also keen at working with my hands. I've enjoyed making things and decorating. If you have the skills and tools to do the work yourself, you should. It gives you a great sense of accomplishment and you know that it's done well.
